Hydroseeding Services

Residential & Commercial lawns – Powell River & the Sunshine Coast of BC

Mr. Green-Up offers both commercial hydroseeding and residential hydroseeding for all of the BC Sunshine Coast communities – from Port Mellon, Langdale, Gibsons, Roberts Creek, Sechelt, Halfmoon Bay, Pender Harbour and Powell River. We pride ourselves on our ability to offer custom hydroseeding mixes tailored to our clients needs and purposes. Hydroseeding is a popular choice for new home construction projects, commercial land development, slopes, septic fields, roadsides or just rejuvenating damaged or drought affected lawns. Fast and easier to install, hydroseeding does not have the material expense or installation demands of sodding and is vastly more reliable and effective than hand seeding.

Hydroseeding Frequently Asked Questions

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

ABOUT HOW HYDROSEEDING WORKS

We have 25 years of experience hydroseeding and offer professional service and quality work. Please feel free to contact us with any additional questions you may have about hydroseeding on the BC Sunshine Coast.

CAN I WALK ON MY NEWLY HYDROSEEDED LAWN?

Yes, you may walk on the hydroseeding but you must be careful not to scuff your feet and disturb the mulch mat.

WILL THE GREEN MULCH STAIN?

No. If the mulch gets on the sidewalk, driveway, or siding of your house, simply wash it off with a garden hose.

IS HYDROSEEDING SAFE FOR OUR PETS?

Yes. All components of the hydroseeding process are environmentally friendly and will not cause harm to pets.

WHAT DO I NEED TO DO TO PREPARE FOR HYDROSEEDING?

To prepare the soil, remove any large rocks or debris. Fluff the top layer lightly with a rake, ready to receive the hydroseed.

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE FOR GRASS TO GROW?

Depending upon watering/rainfall amounts and temperature, a hydroseeded lawn should start to grow in approximately 7-10 days and should be ready for the first mowing in about 3 to 4 weeks in the growing season. This process can be slowed in early spring and late fall when temperatures can drop below 10 degrees Celsius.

WHEN SHOULD I MOW MY HYDROSEEDED LAWN?

A new lawn should be mowed as soon as the first blades are 3-4`` high, even if the whole lawn has not yet reached that height. Mowing will stimulate root growth and help the lawn grow thicker.
